Letter to the Congregation

March 12, 2020

Dear People of Faith,

Effective immediately, all worship and faith formation gatherings have been cancelled.

As we are well aware, the COVID-19 virus has been confirmed in Keizer and other nearby areas. The Church Council met this evening to consider how to best protect our worshipping community and those with whom we have contact. Knowing that the elderly and those with compromised health are most at risk, the Council made the faithful and courageous decision to cancel all of Faith’s Sunday morning activities for at least the next 30 days.

Our hope is that we will be able to gather together again on Easter Sunday, April 12. However, this will be reevaluated as get closer to that date.

For those who have email, the Sunday bulletin and sermon will be sent to you. If you don’t have email and would like to receive them, please call me at 503-556-2430 or leave a message on the church phone and I will make sure that a copy is mailed to you each week.

I will also be looking at online worship options and other ways of staying connected.

While we may not be gathering together in one place, we remain a community. Please pray for one another, stay in contact with each other by phone, email or social media and care for yourself physically, emotionally and spiritually.

If you have any needs during this time, please don’t hesitate to call me. I will continue to hold each of you in prayer until we are able to meet together again.

May you find peace in the promise that the God of the past, present and future holds you close.

In God’s peace,

Pastor Linda Easterling
